Design
Our security system design consists of a Unified Security Solution consisting of a single platform combining Access Control, Video Surveillance and Intrusion Detection. In a Unified Security Solution users can monitor real-time events within a single user (UI) interface, perform all search for information on cardholders, doors and areas and view alarms and video surveillance information.
Features
Access Control
The access control system will consist of card readers, door locks and request-to-exit devices. These field devices will be connected to fully distributed intelligent field controllers.
Video Surveillance
The video surveillance system will consist of high resolution exterior Internet Protocol (IP) pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) wall mount dome cameras and interior high resolution ceiling mount dome cameras.
Intrusion Alarm
The intrusion system will consist of a centralized control panel, addressable alphanumeric keypads and addressable monitor modules for monitoring PIR motion detectors, glass break sensors and door position switches.
Video Surveillance
The first component on the Unified Security Solution is the video surveillance system. The video surveillance system will consist of high resolution exterior Internet Protocol (IP) pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) wall mount dome cameras and interior high resolution ceiling mount dome cameras. Each IP dome camera will be supported by a homerun of Category 6 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable to a Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE) network switch located in the nearest telecommunications room. Each PoE switch contains twenty-four (24) PoE 10/100Mbps, two (2) 10/100/1000BASE-T and two (2) available combo 10/100/1000BASET/SFP ports. Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) modules will be utilized to network together the required network switches via a fiber optic backbone. The video surveillance storage arrays consist of two (2) storage servers with the required long term storage as desired by the Owner. The two servers will provide significant long term video retention of up to thirty (30) days. Monitoring of the system can be achieved at the Video Surveillance Workstation equipped with dual 22″ LCD monitors.
Access Control
The second component of the Unified Security Solution is the access control system. The access control system will consist of card readers, door locks and request-to-exit devices. These field devices will be connected to fully distributed intelligent field controllers. Using the single UI, access locations have the capability to annunciate entry’s/exits/alarms and bidirectional communications is possible between the access locations and the Unified Security Solution server. The system shall have badge generation tools to create and manage badges using a graphical interface and convenient query features to manage large numbers of badges.
Intrusion Alarm
The third component of the Unified Security Solution is the Intrusion Alarm System. The intrusion system will consist of a centralized control panel, addressable alphanumeric keypads and addressable monitor modules for monitoring PIR motion detectors, glass break sensors and door position switches. Using the single UI, intrusion only points have the capability to annunciate alarms and bidirectional communications is possible between the control panel and the Unified Security Solution server.
